LISD FFA Parents & Friends Club and Glenda Johnson Memorial Scholarship Information!
The LISD FFA Parents and Friends Club will be awarding scholarships to qualifying applicants from the current graduating class. To qualify for this scholarship, you must be graduating from high school in the applying year, a current FFA chapter member and have been an active participant in the FFA program. In addition, the applicant’s parents must be members of the booster club and all necessary application forms and requirements must be completed and turned in by the deadline provided.
The scholarship applications will be reviewed by the Parents & Friends Scholarship Committee and external community interview panel. In addition to the application, each applicant will be interviewed by a panel of community members. The weighting of each component will be as follows: 20% application, Essays: 50%, interview 20%; recommendation 10% scores.
To be considered for the LISD FFA Parents and Friends Club scholarship the applicant must complete the scholarship agreement form, the scholarship application Roman numerals I. through V. and participate in an interview. The Glenda Johnson Memorial Scholarship, $2000 award, is a community service focused award. To be considered for this scholarship Roman numerals I. through V. must be completed in addition to completing a community service-based essay, Roman numeral VI. Only one recipient will receive the Glenda Johnson Memorial Scholarship.
